A Tribute Like No Other

The time has come to officially announce my ‘not-so’ secret project anymore!

For those who follow me, knows that I’ve been talking about this book I’m releasing in just a couple short months. Many know the title, some have a general idea what it’s about, and only a select few got the inside scoop! Well, now everyone is about to discover just what it is that I’ve been working so hard on these past several months. But first…a little background of why I began writing this story in the first place.

7 Months, 18 days ago…

My life changed in a drastic way. I lost not only my best friend of 13 years, but I lost a part of me that I’ll never get back…

mirrThat girl right there, right above, was more than just a girl who came up to me my first day at a new school, in a new town, offering to be my friend. She turned out to be so much more than I ever knew she would. August 8th, 2014, her life was cut short, and the sun would never shine the same way without her beautiful, infectious smile. When this happened, I SHUT DOWN. I couldn’t comprehend- couldn’t ACCEPT- why the world was so cruel. So, I did the only thing I knew how to do, I started to write. The only true way I could deal with the emotions of losing my soul sister.

Which brings us all to why were here…

My upcoming release, the one I’ve talked nonstop about, the one currently in editing, the one that is set to be published soon- is about her.

Now, I want to make sure the air is absolutely clear about this. The story is entirely FICTIONAL and the characters are MADE UP! But…each of the characters have a little piece of my best friend in them. Whether it’s the way they talk, they way they respond to a situation, or the general non-filtered humor that comes out of their mouths. In addition, there is little pieces of things we shared together, as well as things that are TRUE in real life. For example. the main character loses her best friend, who happened to be a mad snare drummer! (I.E. Mirranda). Little things are planted throughout the story, some of which I hope all her friends and family will recognize and appreciate. This is my way of remembering her, of keeping her permanently here, in this world. Leaving a trace of her legacy behind forever.

After all, it’s the least I could to for the girl who pushed me to go after my dreams. If it weren’t for Mirranda, I would’ve never started writing in the first place. She encouraged me, she pushed me, until one day I finally listened to her. I owe everything to the most beautiful soul in the world. And I hope that everyone who knew her, will see her in this story. For those who never got the pleasure of meeting her, I hope after reading, you’ll get a sense of just how good of a friend she was. Of how bright, funny, and beautiful she was. Because she was all of those, and so much more.

mirr2Now, the deets about the story!

This One’s For You

Coming May 2015

Genre: New Adult

Cover Reveal: April 22nd, 2015

Blurb: All alone in a new state, Brennan Daniels has only the memories of her best friend, Reagan, to keep her company as she starts college. Reagan is the reason for everything Brennan does—before she died, she made Brennan promise to stay good until she found a man worth keeping. No boys, no dating, and definitely no falling in love—those were the rules for college, and Brennan carved them into the brick walls guarding her heart…

But there’s a fire burning behind those walls, and when Brennan meets Owen Scott, the (mysterious) new guy across the hall, she can’t deny the pull between them. He is everything she should never want. Everyone warns her to stay away—even Owen himself—but the heart wants what the heart wants, even if it knows that it’s going to get hurt—even if it means throwing old promises to new flames…

TBR List

I love you, Mirr. Always and Forever.
